Dedicated in July 1992, the Anaheim Interfaith Shelter (aka Halcyon) is a transitional living center for families giving them a safe place to live while saving up the funds needed to secure a permanent address. In addition to fund raising efforts, Anaheim First Presbyterian Church maintains one of the apartments.

Attendance at the Anaheim Community Theatre for a special performance of "Rumors" as a fundraiser for Halcyon was again very successful.  Thank you all for your support of this organization.

A letter from one grateful family:

To All the Congregation,
As we leave Halcyon, just wanted you to know how much everything your parish has done has meant to us.  From Thanksgiving fixings to an absolutely grand Christmas, birthdays and visits.  We are grateful, appreciative and truly blessed. Our best wishes go out to each and every one of you. We will never forget your kindness.
        God Bless you all . . .

New Family for Halcyon Apartment

A mom with seven children will be moving in! To quote from Matthew 25:44-45, "When Lord did we ever see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and we would not help you?" Helping this family is answering this question.
We will again need to refurnish the apartment. So, PLEASE, since it is Spring Cleaning Time, and we need your help, DON'T throw away something we can use in the apartment. Mellody Anderson went to a yard sale and picked up quite a few items, including skillets and a 9 X 13 Pyrex baking dish. I donated a set of large plates, coffee mugs, full set of silverware for eight, toilet tissue, bath soap, and a roll of drawer liners, but we still need more kitchen and bath items and bedding.
