Mission Statement
       Our purpose is to be an active, vibrant family of Christians sharing Christ's message as we reach out to our diverse community.  We will:

Create a gathering place where each person senses the warmth of a spiritual home.
Share the good news of the gospel throughout the community.
Provide inspirational meaningful and relevant worship that honors both our traditions and contemporary perspectives.
Develop partnerships with the community that enable us to identify and serve people's needs.
Seek, develop and support Congregational and pastoral leaders who will foster connections, inspiring the congregation to evangelism, action and change.

Who are the Elders in the Presbyterian Church?
       Elders are chosen by members of a nominating committee and approved by the entire congregation. They work closely with ministers to provide leadership and encourage the people in the worship and service of God. They inform the minister and Session about those things which need attention in the church community. Some elders are also called upon to serve in capacities beyond their local congregation. Elders are either male or female and are commissioned to serve for specific terms in the church. Once commissioned, elders are eligible to serve multiple terms as called.

Who are the Deacons in the Presbyterian Church?
       Like elders, deacons are male or female and are commissioned to serve for a specific term but may serve multiple terms if called. Unlike elders, deacons are not part of the governing body of the church except for those questions that are put to the entire congregation. Deacons can be described as good shepherds who take care of their individual flocks keeping the lines of communication open with every member of the congregation. They see to various needs of the church by hosting receptions following memorial services, delivering flowers to shut-ins, and participating in many different projects throughout the year. They also sponsor an apartment for Halcyon, an organization that aids the homeless. Another vital aspect is to operate a prayer chain whereby they pray for those with serious needs. The deacons' Fund helps people who come to our minister for short-term financial assistance and contributes to other worthy causes. Deacons are enthusiastic about the role they play in the work of their church.
