Many lifelong bonds have been forged between church members participating in some of our social groups. Visitors and new members are always welcome! Check the Calendar Page for specific meeting dates and call or email the church office for additional information.
Presbyterian Women Presbyterian women meet in circles usually once a month at someone's home. They are very casual affairs. Just a time to make new friendships and cherish old ones. There are also a couple of Presbyterian Gatherings each year and all women are invited whether or not they normally attend circle meetings. The circles usually include Bible study or some other form of spiritual enrichment. The ladies also keep aware of what needs they might fulfill in the community and raise funds to support those endeavors. Over the years, the gatherings have included many wonderful speakers, performers, fashion shows and always great food!
Men's Fellowship All men are encouraged to show up on Friday mornings at the Jägerhaus Restaurant at 2525 East Ball Road in Anaheim (near the 57 Freeway). The group gathers at 9:00 a.m. for good food and conversation. See you there!
Tuesday Stewards What would Anaheim First Pres do without this group? As the name implies, those who are handy with various tools and free on Tuesday mornings show up and do the everything from small touch up jobs to recently building a brand new (and much needed) upstairs restroom facility. If you'd rather pick up a screwdriver than answer the phone, this is a great volunteer opportunity that will earn you much gratitude from our congregation.
Volunteers Whatever your skills, there's probably a volunteer job (or two) available and you'll always make some great friends in the process. The main thing is to let your talents be known. Are you great on the phone? Like to do a variety of odd jobs around the church office? Good at figures? A great organizer? Do you sing? Do you act? Do you love to decorate? Are you particularly good with children? Whether or not you connected with any of the groups listed above on this page, there are many ways to use your talents and help out the church at the same time. Volunteering fits is in closely with the philosophy of the Presbyterian Church. Every congregation is governed by a group of elders who are members of our immediate church family. Here are some of the possibilities to let your talents shine: Usher during the worship service Serve coffee and refreshments after the service. Serve on one of the church committees Sing in the choir Help out in the church office Help set and decorate the tables for special events and clean-up afterwards Help serve food at special events Teach Sunday School or become a Youth Group advisor The pre-school needs story tellers and baby rockers Our Anaheim Community Theater has jobs both on and off stage.
